Surfing Australia & MusclePharm Partnership

The two-year partnership includes sponsorship of the Hurley Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (HPC), the world’s first facility dedicated to helping surfers of all abilities reach a higher performance level.

Funded by the Australian Sports Commission and opened in June 2012, the two-level centre of excellence features state-of-the-art education facilities, surf specific gym, auditorium, offices, sports science testing and treatment room, and accommodations for 22 athletes, all of which was designed in consultation with the Australian Institute of Sport.

“Surfing is a highly strenuous sport that requires a lot of endurance and the right balance of nutrition to help these athletes excel in the water,” said Brad Pyatt, chairman and CEO of MusclePharm.

“Partnering with Surfing Australia is a perfect way for MusclePharm to introduce its products to surfers who want to maximise performance in a region known for hosting professional surf competitions and some of the best waves in the world.”

The HPC is situated at Casuarina in northern New South Wales.

MusclePharm will also sponsor the Team Australia program, which includes International Surfing Association Events encompassing the World Junior Titles, World Masters Titles, World Longboard Titles and World SUP and Paddleboard Titles. The sponsorship also includes the annual Green Room Conference, Australia’s benchmark professional development gathering for the surfing community.
